For my Christmas present my boyfriend bought me my first firearm. We were visiting San Antonio at the time and came to Buck and Doe’s. Being the firearm aficionado that he is he immediately put a red dot (purchased elsewhere) on it however it caused the gun to jam. So we went back the next day to test out loosening the optic and try it without. Worked perfectly. Mike was helping us every step of the way. Great man! Very patient considering this is my first firearm. The entire staff was fantastic!! Very knowledgeable and informative. Not only about my firearm but anything we wanted to look at. Definitely look forward to coming back and chatting with Mike for many years to come!!

Buck & Doe’s is a very nice place that can certainly scratch your latest firearms related itch. The folks there are super friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and very patient with folks new to the wide world of boom-sticks. I have only visited them a few times over the past couple of years simply because I live on the exact opposite end of the San Antonio universe. However, every interaction I’ve experienced there has been nothing short of friendly and informative. These folks genuinely care about what’s in the customer’s best interests.
My next investment will have to be a larger safe to accommodate my rapidly growing collection, but I guarantee that I’ll be doing more business with Buck & Doe’s in the future.

Avast selection of guns and weapons of all sorts, they have assortments of ammunition, accessories/gear for your ammunition and weapons. Clothing & jewelry. Purses,bags and pouches that are great for concealing your small weapons.Outdoor camping equipment and hunting equipment. Assortment of courses, We rented a few guns to try before we bought in their indoor range. I recommend the “Personal/Private” course ; covers safety , laws /home invasion, ,how to clean, handle, load n fire your gun. There’s a discount If you’re in a group of two or more . Our instructor Jeremy was awesome- is professional, knowledgeable and patient . Friendly and helpful staff, Plenty of parking, handicap accessible and clean.

Me and my friends are from Belgium and had never shot before in our lives. Ron explained everything really well, he showed us how to safely handle and shoot a gun. It was a pleasure talking with him about guns & other stuff.

I would definitely recommend B&Ds to everyone I know. And if possible, I’d come back myself some day to hopefully shoot with Ron again!

Nice and clean. Range is a little short (15 yds) but perfectly adequate for most. Electronic target adjustment was nice. Fully stocked gun store with accessories. -1 star because everything was way overpriced but not being from there I don’t know what their competitive environment is. Did not get to see the archery side.

Took my 15yr old for private instruction as a 1st time shooter with pistols (9mm Sig and .45 S/W. Ret Army Ranger, Ron Benton was his instructor. Without a doubt one of the best times we have ever had! Ron went over safety, sight alignment, stances, trigger squeeze, malfunctions and clearing. We had multiple drills, low light firing and moving targets. All with constructive feedback on how to improve with each iteration. Could not ask for a better 1st day. We will be back and my son and I have something fun to do together. The prices were very reasonable. Thank you to Ron and Buck and Doe’s for a great outing!

This place deserves 5 stars because of Don. Don is an amazing instructor. I signed up for a private lesson and Don was patient, informative, knowledgeable and provided excellent training. I highly highly highly recommend him. He also took his time and didn’t rush the lesson which I appreciated. Sometimes instructors only give you an hour and don’t explain important facts. I will say trying to schedule the private lesson was a nightmare, I had to call several times and I had a specific instructor in mind at first but in the end I just said can you book me a private lesson at 10:30 and then I showed up. That seemed to be most efficient and work out best. I will def. go back and take the HCL course here. I am very happy that I chose Buck & Doe’s and that Don is a great employee!

I attended an LTC class and Buck and Doe’s and was fortunate to get to work with Ron Benton. He did a great job making me comfortable and at the same time, he made sure I knew everything I needed to know about being safe and prepared when carrying my firearm. He did a great job. I took the beginner’s course on 08/04/2023. The instructor, Ron, was very informative, funny, and direct. He let us get comfortable with a 22 handgun in the classroom before taking us to the range. We could only shoot ten rounds, which I felt was not enough to get comfortable shooting on my own. The staff are helpful, the indoor range is excellent, and the store has something for everyone.
